One of our sites has non-ASCII (non-English) characters in the URL: 

  Http://example.com/kb/analeло-about/option/

I wonder how web crawlers (especially Googlebot) manage these situations? Are these URLs encoded or otherwise processed?

I think this URL-encoded is best. This is standard.
