How would you design, architecture and implement the cross-platform synchronization mechanism?

Targeted Platform: Windows, Windows Mobile 6.5 & amp; 7, iPhone, Mac OS X, Android

This is a very easy desktop to synchronize the CRUD app.

Please note that nothing is running in the cloud, this is the reason why I am thinking that I can not capitalize on an existing trusted open (API) technique such as dropboxes ? See for some problems with synchronization "in general"
