scripting - downloading file using curl -

I need to download a file from a web page. In the browser, it is done by pressing the submit button. Just simple button, press it and you see a pop-up window where to save the file and similarly.
I tried posting with curl: curl-d "foo = bar" and ..... "[url] but it returns the request page No file, and I am quite confused about the file, because I do not know that it is on the server and the only way to get it is to press this anger button.
Please
